This is an attempt to capture the mystery of the journey between the Salar de Uyuni and the Atacama Desert, a four-day crossing by 4x4 from Oruro, Bolivia, to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. It was by chance that I used a disposable analog camera, as my digital equipment had been stolen a few days before the crossing began. In places where time is measured in eras, and where mining extraction continues to leave a profound mark, perhaps fate determined that the landscape should be photographed on film, through a plastic lens.
